The fact that the popular digital store application will stop supporting a number of outdated operating systems has been known since at least the beginning of the year. But now Valve employees have finally dotted the i's: with the latest patch, updates for the seventh and eighth Windows were permanently disabled. At the same time under the crush fell macOS 10.13 and 10.14. But there is good news: the company's launcher finally learned to record not only screenshots, but also video gameplay.

The decision to abandon Microsoft operating systems versions 7, 8 and 8.1 is primarily due to technical nuances. The fact is that the browser built into the client "Stima" is served by Google, as well as any other modification of Chrome. And since Google has stopped supporting outdated operating systems, Valve employees are forced to act accordingly. No one will give any guarantees of proper operation of the service in such a situation. The only solution for gamers who have encountered problems is to switch to a more modern "operating system".

On the other hand, the update has some nice bonuses. In particular, video recording of games is now available by a simple combination of keys. To take a screenshot, as you know, you need to press F12, and to create a video - Ctrl + F11 with an active overlay. Also in the settings there are menu items "Do not record" and "In background mode" - in the latter case the program will automatically start recording after starting any game from your library. Finished files will be available in the same place where pictures are usually saved, i.e. in the "View" tab at the very bottom of the list of options.
