Marvel Rivals season 10 has launched

NetEase has announced the start of a new season in its superhero online shooter Marvel Rivals. Fans of the Marvel universe will meet a villain named Gorr, play through several story chapters related to this character, see changes in the virtual store assortment, two seasonal passes at once, events, achievements, and bonuses. Technical improvements deserve a separate mention, including the Intel XeSS 3 frame generator. Let's discuss these and other innovations in more detail.

For comics, Gorr is a relatively new character — he appeared on the pages of the magazine in 2013. This villain is known primarily for his hatred of gods, especially Thor, whom he has repeatedly tried to kill. In the game, Gorr returns to his old ways, as vividly shown in the Butcher's Blasphemy trailer. The game has also been enriched with three storylines, including the chapters "All Gods Will Die" and "Journey into Mystery" — the latter is connected to the adventures of Loki, Thor's brother. Additionally, NetEase developers have reworked Scarlet Witch's abilities to better showcase Wanda's power to alter reality. Interestingly, the season 4 battle pass has been brought back to the game — those who haven't yet earned its challenge rewards can now do so. The virtual shop has been stocked with bundles for Gorr, Emma Frost, Hood, and other fighters.

As for the tenth battle pass itself, it has been named The Godbomb and offers a dozen heroic costumes as rewards for completing missions. In the "Tetrameron" event, players need to help Loki complete tasks to earn a prize. Technical fixes haven't been overlooked either: the "K'un-Lun: Heart of Heaven" map has been optimized, and the Intel XeSS 3 frame generator has been added to the game. This technology works with "blue" processors and allows inserting three additional frames between the original ones, generated by a neural network. This achieves greater smoothness in all animations.
