It has been revealed what awaits Fallout 76 in 2026
After the release of the Burning Sprigs expansion, which connected the MMORPG world with the TV series «Fallout,» where Walton Goggins played one of the main roles, Bethesda employees have only presented minor updates to their game to the public. However, the development team has serious plans for its future. This was discussed in a conversation with PCGamesN journalists by the project's creative director John Rush and producer Bill LaCost. They also shared the specific methods their team plans to use to achieve their goals.
How will Fallout 76 change by the end of this year?

Fallout 76 is undoubtedly one of the most significant games in Bethesda's portfolio. Players' characters explore an open world full of dangers, monsters, and various activities, but according to most users, it still lacks depth. The storylines could be more expansive, faction interactions could be more engaging, and events could be more dynamic. The developers themselves recognize this issue: they note that while the game map has undergone several major expansions, these have primarily increased the play area rather than focusing on quality content. Among the solutions to this problem, the creative director mentioned new ways to interact with existing content.
There are also purely technical reasons why the map should be expanded in depth rather than width. Endlessly expanding locations simply isn't feasible. «There's already plenty of unused space in the existing territory that we could potentially free up if it helps create the stories we want to tell and if we believe players would be interested in exploring these regions and building in them,» the interviewee told the PCGamesN journalist.
