The magic didn't work - Spellbreak will be closed

One of the most unusual "royal battles" of our time, which back in 2020, predicted a great future, is coming to an end. Such a decision was made by the development team from the Proletariat studio. In their statement they noted that Spellbreak was an important milestone in their creative development, but it's time to turn the page and do something new.

At a basic level, the game is not much different from other "battle royale" games like PUBG: heroes land on a vast map, which eventually begins to shrink, and everyone fights among themselves until the last survivor. But Spellbreak has a couple of striking distinguishing features - cartoon style and elemental magic instead of the more familiar ammo guns. And the division into classes is based on the schools of magic. One, for example, controls stones, another fire, another lightning, and so on.

These features have allowed the action game to become one of Steam's best new releases at release, garnering thousands of positive reviews and receiving more than five million users. But all good things come to an end at some point. The project has long been without updates and its servers are mostly empty, but recently the developers rolled out a patch and posted that the game will be closed in early 2023. There is still time to make up for lost time - Spellbreak is available for free, you can play it at any time and on any convenient platform.
