Blade & Soul Heroes is coming soon
NCSOFT, the company responsible for creating the cross-platform spin-off of the famous MMORPG subtitled «Heroes», has released a gameplay trailer. The video showcases core mechanics including hero collection and team formation, as well as two combat modes. The game is set for a worldwide release on September 24 this year — it will be free-to-play on all platforms. Here's what we know so far.
What makes Blade & Soul Heroes notable?

The story follows the conflict between Yusol and the villain I-Chun, who is linked to the cult of the Falling Sky. Players will side with the forces of good, requiring them to assemble their own party of characters and learn to use them effectively in battles. There are two combat modes — you can switch between real-time battles where only the main hero participates, and turn-based tactics where you can deploy your «minions» on the field. Moreover, this can be done at any moment, not strictly according to the script. Each squad will be limited to five fighters, but over forty are promised in total, so much depends on the player's ability to combine the strengths of different allies.
In a recently published video, the developers mention that each creature under your command will have its own backstory, supplemented by comics. Additionally, companions will have one of six elemental attributes (e.g., fire or water) and one of four classes (attack, support, defense, and tactics). All this will influence combat style and the visual effects of skill usage. The MMORPG's art style, by the way, is anime-inspired — if you're familiar with the original Blade & Soul, this won't be new to you. The project is scheduled for release on September 24. According to the Steam page, it won't support the Russian language.
