Sweeping the Gingerbread Mine: A New Year's Eve update for Rust

Multiplayer survival simulator Rust is getting ready for the holidays: players get presents, dance under the Christmas tree, and descend into candy-covered mines where they must fight a previously unseen evil. The update will be available until January 5 next year, so everyone has time not only to celebrate Christmas, but also to get acquainted with the game, if you have not run it.

Gift-giving is designed as follows. Every now and then decorated boxes appear on the map, and if the player's character is within 40 meters of them, the sound of bells ringing becomes audible - just go to the sound and get something useful. Gifts come in different sizes and contents. Some will get weapons or resources, and others will get candy and tinsel. But the little things, if enough of them collected, allowed to exchange for more serious bonuses. All server dwellers get a chance to find Santa hats and reindeer antlers to wear, and gamers are also entitled to a reward for each day of participation in the celebration.

The second part of the patch is associated with the battles. Now and then on the ground you will come across colorful decorated houses, leading into the mines, which are inhabited by gingerbread men. These confectionery products, enlivened by an evil force, must be destroyed to be rewarded. And for sweets, the Ice King set, which includes clothes, icy ballistic mask, and a throne inspired by Game of Thrones.
