RuneScape received an improved combat system
The developers at Jagex continue to update their MMORPG RuneScape. As fans of the game know, this happens in several stages, and the next one has already arrived — the developers have presented the combat update to the public. The patch covers three aspects at once: melee combat, ranged combat, and the use of magical attacks. Also, fans of the genre should not forget that RuneScape is currently one of the oldest online games — it is celebrating its 25th anniversary. This is also connected to the major changes currently taking place in the game.
What's interesting about the fresh RuneScape update?

Considering the project's age, much of it is hopelessly outdated, which is why the developers launched the large-scale Road to Restoration program. The goal of the «military» update is to give users clear management principles and a perspective on character development up to level 120. For all combat styles, including magical ones, cleaner mechanics were devised, as well as improved graphical representation of skill usage. The only exception was necromancy — it already looks clear and modern enough. All other specializations received leveling paths up to level 120, and at the same time, the damage curve was rebalanced, making the berserker aura redundant in the game. Now, characters at level 99 have no chance of defeating someone who is maxed out.
As for the Jagex team's further plans, a small patch with bug fixes will be released in the second week of March, the third week will be marked by an update improving the Hero's Guild, and the end of the month is scheduled for the release of the first part of Havenhythe — a major story expansion. As you can easily notice, the updates will not be released all at once but in weekly stages, as they will be discussed with regular users and refined based on feedback.
