Taehyun Kim, the director of the popular "battle royalee" game, spoke about the future development of the project. Fans of the online shooter PUBG: Battlegrounds will see the progress of game-related AI-technologies, more weather effects, support for different control methods for console owners and the return of the well-forgotten tool to protect against cheaters. We tell you in more detail what the authors of the shooter intend to do with their project until the end of 2025.

PUBG: Battlegrounds Roadmap to 2025

Krafton continues to work with NVIDIA to add neural network controlled partners to the game. At the same time, even the proprietary DLSS technology is still absent in the shooter. According to the developers, the first place for them is the topic of artificial intelligence, not image smoothing. Now AI is not available to all users, but there are already some results in customizable matches, so the next in line is the mode for adding AI functions - training. It also became known that it is possible to implement mechanics with the drop of the most powerful weapon in all modes, except for the usual "battle royale".

The developers are looking for ways to increase the immersiveness of their game. While coming up with a destruction model for objects such as the cable car on Vikendi and the ferry on Erangel is too complicated a task, weather effects are much easier to realize. According to Daehyun Kim, the challenge is to make the change of weather perceived as one of the key factors of tactics. It also became known that console gamers with keyboard and mouse will have to wait for the solution of technical problems - the game is not so easy to recognize the change of control method. Finally, the studio is discussing a plan to bring back Shield Program - a service for recording gameplay on video in order to accuse any of the users of cheating.
