The developers have changed their minds about burying Destiny 2

Several months have already passed since the Bungie studio announced that it was dropping Destiny 2 and concentrating all its efforts on its newer project — Marathon. As a consolation, a major expansion called "Monument of Triumph" was released, featuring a number of missions and features that had previously been available for money. But things are apparently not going as well for Marathon as its creators had planned. That is why they have returned to the fans of the Guardians' fantastic battles for the Solar System with encouraging news.

What awaits Destiny 2 in the near future?

The developers have started a series of messages under the general title "Bungie Community Update" with a story from product department head Josh Dean about how the studio's famous duology will be revived. This decision was made after gamers collectively spoke out against ending support for their favorite series. To start with, the public will be given access to a subscription containing all the major expansions, including "Red War", "Forsaken", "Curse of Osiris", and "Warmind". Also included will be the raid lairs and the "Panopticon" mission with modified rewards. The process of returning all the content to the MMO shooter will take, according to official estimates, about a year.

The Bungie team received the green light to develop Destiny instead of freezing the project back in September, but the details have only now become known. So what will happen in the near future? The first missions since "Monument of Triumph" and a fresh progression track will be released in February. In essence, this will be a reboot. But Dean honestly admits that the stakes are high — if his colleagues still fail to prepare the update, the team will be disbanded. And the best aid in this work will be the active support of Marathon, which will provide the team with the necessary budget.
