«Showdown» with Dwayne Johnson has launched in Fortnite

The authors of the famous «Battle Royale» from Epic Games studio announce the start of the second season of the seventh chapter Fortnite, which is called Showdown (or, in the Russian localization, «Противостояние»). Gamers will be divided into two factions — one faction sides with the Founder, the other is allied with the Ice Lord, and the update also includes Battle Pass rewards, Star Wars tools in Creative mode, and invitations for users of Android devices.

The story of how the virtual «Showdown» ended the real one now seems like a real pun — Epic Games and Google have finally settled their legal disputes in court, which is why the former's shooter has returned to the latter's marketplace. But no less significant changes are happening in the game itself. With the start of the new season, the forces of two factions become active, one of which is commanded by the Founder — a role given to the famous wrestler, musician, and actor Dwayne Johnson, known as The Rock. By joining either side, players can unlock weapon and cosmetic samples throughout the season, and ultimately receive their leader's skin.

An additional reward during a match can be earned by eliminating a character you have designated as your opponent. Additionally, starting April 9th, Arena battles will begin — a special mode where duelists must fight using manually built fortifications. Players can fight solo or in pairs, with a total of 16 heroes on one location. The mode will be part of the Ranked League. Finally, the Star Wars theme remains an important part of Fortnite. This time — in the form of creative tools for creating custom maps, scenarios, and modes. You can build a Tatooine location or the Death Star, and starting May 1st — invite other gamers to your island.
