A new Korean MMORPG with a focus on survival in an open world is currently in full development. Images of characters and videos showcasing the virtual world's landscapes have already been published, but information about the game remains scarce. To provide a clearer understanding of what gamers will encounter, the game director and lead artist of the project gave a brief interview, discussing the nuances of the plot and the features of the universe they've created. The conversation, naturally, was conducted in Korean—here's a brief summary of its content.

What is currently known about Architect: Land of Exiles?

According to the developers, they were inspired by mid-20th-century science fiction, particularly works that explored the origins of humanity and civilization (here, it’s fitting to recall Arthur C. Clarke’s «2001: A Space Odyssey»). This is why the game’s backstory begins with ancient giants deciding to build a massive tower capable of altering the biosphere. However, a catastrophe occurred, killing the builders themselves. Over time, humans emerged on the ruins of their cities—they must study the legacy of the past to achieve unprecedented prosperity. But to do so, they will need to explore and fight extensively.

The heroes will undertake feats in an open world spanning 6 km², divided into several biomes. The list of locations includes the red wasteland of Kalba, where all characters begin their adventures, as well as a riverside garden and snow-covered mountains. Additionally, NPCs are promised to provide quests and rewards, along with monsters, mini-games like puzzles, points of interest for the most curious, mechanics for flying, swimming, riding various animals, and day-night cycles. One of the interesting features will be parkour—heroes will be able to climb walls and structures to uncover secrets and loot hidden caches.
