«Overclocked» and the new heroine in Apex Legends

Studio Respawn Entertainment announced the start of season 29 in its online shooter Apex Legends — the update was named Overclocked. The star of the update was a legend named Axel. The heroine is distinguished by her mobility: while other participants in the competition run around the map, she rides. Also, quick revival of teammates, assigning the order of using medical supplies during a match, and several other changes became available in the gameplay, which are worth detailing.

Thanks to a wheel built into her suit, Axelcan glide on any surface, making her one of the most mobile fighters in the game. Most of her abilities, including «Drift», «Nitro Gates», and «Acceleration», are aimed at making her a difficult target. Firepower is added by a drone that follows the heroine everywhere and helps its owner not only find enemies but also deal damage to them. At the same time, the new legend belongs more to the support class — effective use of her abilities requires well-coordinated teamwork. Losing even one member of such a squad usually leads to defeat. If previously, to return fallen comrades, you had to collect banners and rush to a respawn beacon, now you can clear the territory and bring back a hero using a special box — it's a quick process, but a noisy one, so opponents can take advantage of the situation.

The «Chain Healing» feature suggests using healing items not individually, but in a series, so as not to be distracted by pressing different keys. In the settings, three options appeared for this: the option can be completely disabled, automated (the character will apply all necessary consumables on their own), or set to manual activation. Also, the developers announced changes to Vantage and Conduit — the first one got a boosted passive skill and a better scope, and the second one had her tactical characteristics upgraded.
