Palworld will become a collectible card game

Cooperative survival action in a fantasy world by taming various monsters, which people have nicknamed «Pokemon with guns», will soon get its own CCG version like Magic: The Gathering or Pokemon TCG. The rules will be built around duels: gamers take turns making moves, using the properties of magical creatures in defense and attack, accumulated resources, as well as tactical ingenuity. We'll tell you more about what is known about the release at the moment.

As in the original video game, in the «tabletop» version two players compete on a shared field, placing their monsters, bases, and resources on it. The announcement video shows some creatures familiar to gamers. Among them are Mimog, Glupi, Chillet, Anubis, and Lovander. Naturally, other pals with their unique abilities will appear at release. There are 137 of them in total, as fans know. And each one has an ace up their sleeve — a special move that can turn the tide of battle. The player, meanwhile, acts as a commander: making moves, planning attack and defense strategy.

However, in the computer version the hero under your control also participates in the fight themselves. How this mechanic will be implemented in the CCG is currently unknown. There is also little clarity on the rules for collecting resources needed for developing pals. But what is definitely already known is that the publisher of the announced novelty will be the Japanese company Bushiroad, which made a name for itself with the release of Cardfight: Vanguard. In addition, the official website indicates the exact release date — July 30, 2026.
