The Last Bastion Has Fallen: ARC Raiders Will Get a PvE Mode

From the very beginning of its existence, the extraction shooter genre has been tied to confrontations between live players on the map. But this almost immediately created unequal conditions for match participants: the winners were people with better skills, equipment, or lower ping than their opponents. This is how the demand for PvE emerged among gamers, where heroes are opposed only by enemies controlled by artificial intelligence. One by one, extraction games acquired corresponding modes, and the other day the employees of Embark studio joined the general trend with the game ARC Raiders.

What to Expect from PvE Battles in ARC Raiders?

The multiplayer action game is currently experiencing a peak of updates — the "Frozen Trail" expansion was released quite recently. But in parallel, the developers are preparing other challenges for raiders. From October 13 to 20, the game will host testing of a new battle mode, where heroes will jointly face ARC robots, without competing against each other. At Embark, this decision is explained by the fact that, according to surveys, 37% of the shooter's users prefer a friendly style in matches — they shout "Don't shoot!" at opponents and avoid PvP whenever possible, since the risk of losing all their loot in a clash with a sharpshooter is extremely high. In the new battle format, the risks will be lower, but the value of loot will also decrease.

By switching to the test PvP mode, you will thereby reduce your damage to other raiders to zero — the same will happen to them. Solo, duo, and trio battles will be available, but without points being counted toward the PvPvE rating. Some locations, such as "Hidden Bunker", "Locked Gates", and "Frigate", will be excluded from the set of PvE maps. After a relatively safe raid, nothing will stop you from quickly switching to a riskier match, where live people, rather than AI, will challenge you.
