The producer of the MMORPG set in the «Star Wars» universe addressed the audience on behalf of Broadsword studio and all those involved in the game's creation. From the open letter, gamers can learn about the project's achievements and some details of the upcoming 7.7.1 update, which is currently being prepared for release — it will become available in about two weeks. It is already known that SWTOR will receive more changes in the second half of the year than it did in the first. But first, they suggest appreciating the journey taken until July 2025.

Details of the open letter to Star Wars: The Old Republic fans

In March, the Rising Powers expansion introduced new nuances to the role-playing system, launched the eighth galactic season, and provided access to companion settings. At the end of May, the project received the 7.7 «Dynamic Worlds» update — it introduced random events, which are now an integral part of SWTOR, as is the eighth PvP season «Wildlife Champions». Finally, gamers were given detailed editors to customize heroes of certain races after their initial creation in the debut. This includes skin textures, facial features, and special markings like spots. After customizing a character, the result can be immediately viewed in a special window.

But all this is in the past. What awaits us in the future? Firstly, Broadsword employees report that they already have a working version of the game with DirectX 12 support, but it is currently being tested to fix all issues. Players will be introduced to it step by step: for example, they will start by transitioning only the interface to DX12. On July 8, the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event will return to the project, and the 7.7.1 patch will also launch a new galactic season. Additionally, the addition of races to the appearance customization menu is promised — the Rattataki are next in line. Finally, an expansion of the storyline is promised, with more details to be revealed during a dedicated broadcast.
