Studio BlackMill Games, known for multiplayer action games themed around World War I, has released a new installment of its epic series — Gallipoli. The game is dedicated to the fierce battles between Entente troops and the army of the Ottoman Empire during the Dardanelles Campaign (1915-1916). For the British, this battle was unsuccessful, but the developers offer a fresh look at the events of the past and an attempt to change history, using soldiers of ten classes and authentically recreated weaponry.

What makes the new online action game Gallipoli interesting?

For BlackMill Games, this is not their first game about the war of 1914-1918 — just recall Verdun and Tannenberg. The studio's previous shooters, by the way, are available until September 5 with an 80% discount. And the new release is offered with a 25% discount until the same date. In Gallipoli, gamers with a first-person perspective fight for control over Turkish lands on the Gallipoli peninsula. Players can choose a soldier of the British or Ottoman Empire, meaning only the main sides are represented, although in reality Austrians, French, and even Russians took part in the Dardanelles Campaign — for example, the Russian cruiser "Askold" was responsible for supporting the Entente landing from the sea. Nevertheless, the game features a detailed character appearance editor, including the customization of mustaches and equipment details, as well as a choice of 10 classes.

Servers support up to 50 connections on a single map, and matches, in addition to the main combat objectives, also offer tactical tasks to be solved by small squads. You can take on the role of a sniper or a medic, or even take command of a group to capture enemy fortifications in Anzac Cove or on the streets of El Kut in Lower Mesopotamia. The developers promise more than half a hundred types of weapons and realistic shootouts with the ability to eliminate an opponent with a single shot. On Steam, the new release is gathering mostly positive reviews, and Russian is among the announced localizations.
