«Treasure Hunters» are coming to Fortnite

Starting November 1, Epic Games' battle royale is launching an event in which heroes must fight for a reward on an island styled after adventure novels about pirates and treasure hunters. For the occasion, the ranks of Fortnite characters have been joined by figures from the One Piece universe, including Luffy, and samurai swords and rubber fruits are now available among the items. Not to mention that heroes will be able to reach the new map by firing themselves out of a giant cannon.

The area added to the game is traditionally divided into locations: there is a central island with Loguetown, Lantern Pier, and Chest Lagoon, as well as several small peninsulas dedicated to different themes, be it the Rubber Resort, Foosha Village, or the Pirate Pier. Every patch of the map has its own rewards and activities. There are both vine-covered caves and attractions with beaches, depending on what interests you more and where you would like to fight. This time, guests from One Piece have made their way in among the characters — the developers promise to add one captain with his crew each week. They will start with the Straw Hat Pirates and A$AP Rocky, followed by Lil Uzi Vert, Hatsune Miku, and Kasane Teto.

Chests are hidden all over the island, and the main treasure chest is in the possession of Captain X. The battle is still designed for 80 participants; only now, you can get onto the map not in the traditional way, but as a projectile fired from a cannon. Among the interactive objects, A$AP Rocky's yacht is worth mentioning — if you manage to reach it, you can unleash a barrage of cannon fire on your opponents. The developers are keeping the final event of Chapter Seven, scheduled for December 5, a secret for now — they will tell about it later. There is no mystery whatsoever about the updated store assortment — with the start of the event, both heroes and items from One Piece will be available for purchase there.
