Hunting the Flying Dutchmen in Naval Action

Bermuda Computer Club studio has released an update for its MMO game about sailing ship battles and building trade routes across the ocean. Now a large Dutch fleet can be encountered on the map — if you challenge it, you can earn rare rewards, including offensive modules. However, the NPC ships do not yet attack players' vessels. The project Naval Action has also been improved with other tweaks — let’s talk about them in more detail.

What did the latest September update bring to Naval Action?

As the public knows, the game is dedicated to the sailing fleets of the 17th–18th centuries, an era when England had not yet become the ruler of the seas. Control over the oceans was divided among several powers, with the Netherlands prominent among them. That is why Dutch ships have appeared in the Bovenwinds region of the virtual map, between La Mona and Curaçao. The new fleet numbers 20–25 vessels and cruises along the route mentioned above, but it acts non-aggressively, engaging only with other NPC sailing ships. You cannot side with the Dutch during a battle, but you can attack them if you and your friends have enough strength to sink at least one ship.

If you succeed, you can obtain rare offensive modules (for faster gun reloading, better aiming, or, for example, boarding) plus collectible books. Note that for convenience the squadron size on the test server has been made much smaller — it consists of only three ships. The developers also report that they are introducing targeted loot distribution into their project, meaning the type of reward now depends on the variety of the mission. Among other changes — reduced effectiveness of double shot (at 500 meters it becomes pointless) and fixes for teleportation issues to outposts.
