A sequel to ArcheAge has been officially announced

The companies Kakao Games and XL Games, the first of which acts as the publisher and the second as the developer, have announced the preparation of the release of the computer MMORPG ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom. This project is intended to restore the trust of fans after the announcement of other sequels — War and Chronicles, which were also supposed to continue the legendary 2013 game, but encountered problems. The new game differs significantly from previous attempts, as it is initially being created for PC, rather than consoles and mobile devices.

Fans of the series will be pleased to know that it is now in reliable hands. Suffice it to say that the team includes the producer of the original game, Kim Kyung-Tae. At XL Games studio, they note that the upcoming MMORPG will combine the spirit of the classic game with modern technologies, primarily advanced graphics. At the same time, the focus will, of course, be on preserving the franchise's identity and developing the ideas that formed the basis of the first part, before paid content affecting balance was added to it.

There is still very little information about the upcoming release, but it is already known that computers will be the main platform, and the release is scheduled for 2027. At the same time, the company Kakao has the right to release the project both in Korea and worldwide. In his address to gamers, the CEO of the publishing house emphasized that a global launch is already planned. More details from the developers will appear later.
