New World authors postpone the release of the update

Previously announced The Guardian season for the MMORPG New World by Amazon Games has passed beta testing on selected servers, but its full release has been postponed. The developers explained their decision by the fact that they would like to make more changes to the game and take into account the wishes of ordinary users. Particular attention will be paid to the abilities and equipment of heroes, as well as further polishing control from gamepads on PC, which has long promised to add to the project.

The first thing the developers intend to change the invulnerability perk, which can make too strong characters with a ranged attack. In the final version of "Guardian" this defense will still work for four seconds, but the chances of the hero to die will increase. Preventing death is possible by getting even with the enemy quickly, but the consequences will still be felt in the form of weakened healing effects and occasional health loss. "Poison Tip" will be combined exclusively with heavy melee attacks - it is still to be balanced for PvP and PvE. But the "Blessing of Nature", which weakens bonuses in exchange for increased damage, will not be subject to change. The authors of the game say that they intend to monitor the reaction of gamers to the release version.

Amazon employees also plan to update the combat and animation system, which is called Slayer Script. As for controller support, the work is now at the halfway point - to the already known options will be added speech-to-text conversion and an increase in the number of supported gamepad models. Changes are in store for cooking and fishing. The number of ingredients required for cooking various dishes will be reduced, and at the same time the number of legendary fish in the reservoirs will be increased. The latter, by the way, will also appear more on the expanses of Eternum.
