Sorry about Vanguard: new Call of Duty announced
While gamers are discussing how low the Call of Duty series of military shooters fell, developers are preparing new projects. Apparently, we're talking about the sequel to the 2019 actioner Modern Warfare and the "Battle Royale" update Warzone. The intrigue is added by the fact that Activision, along with all of its studios, moved under the wing of Microsoft, although formally it remains independent and retains full creative freedom until the close of the deal. Will this affect the new games?
What's the intrigue
A full-fledged announcement with a demonstration of developments and trailers has not yet been. Instead, the Activision employees simply shared the plans on the official website, and something was distributed exclusively through bloggers. According to the published information, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released in the fall of 2022 - a more exact date, as well as the details of the plot, we have not yet. However, insiders believe that the theme of the new shooter will fight against Colombian drug cartels. As for the "Battle Royale" update, they promise to turn it into a "new word in the genre" - at least by adding modes and maps. When exactly this will happen is unknown.
But the most interesting is that both projects, Warzone update and Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward studio creates on the engine, which has never been used in action films by Activision. The company employees reported about long years of work on the new software basis for the games - it is designed to visually and gameplay refresh the series Call of Duty.
