NetEase has unveiled its new shooter
The company known for the online games FragPunk and Marvel Rivals has announced that its multiplayer action game ECC: REDLINE has entered the final stage of development. Its gameplay will be built on team interaction — up to and including heroes being revived by their squadmates. At the same time, the setting is a sports competition, something like gladiatorial battles of the future, only without the complete destruction of the "athletes." The release date of the new title is still unknown, but it is already planned to be free-to-play.
What is known about ECC: REDLINE at this point?

Fighters controlled by players take part in the Extreme Circuit Championship — a survival tournament where all means are fair. The developers emphasize the dynamism of combat: characters will be able to perform various tricks, climb to high ground with a grappling hook, and destroy certain barriers. From the very start of a match, you will need to gather supplies and choose a tactically advantageous position based on the weapon you have been dealt. Teammates will have to cover each other, since the room for maneuvering becomes smaller and smaller as the match progresses — in this respect, ECC resembles the many "battle royales."
The only difference is that there is no elimination here: a hero can return to the battlefield on their own or with the help of teammates (which is faster). The more opponents a contestant eliminates, the more in-game currency they will earn, and during the match itself they will be able to use it to buy new gear or upgrade existing equipment. Thus, the action game encourages activity: hiding in a secluded spot will simply get you nothing. Finally, a detailed gun constructor has been promised: weapons can be modified to suit any shooting style. But exactly when the release will take place is currently unknown, and the system requirements also remain a mystery.
