More than just football: Making Rematch even better
The developers at Sloclap, known for the kung-fu action game Sifu, have announced an update to their football simulator Rematch, where each athlete on the field is controlled by a separate player. The sensational game will be improved next week — it will become more convenient for gamepad owners and colorblind players, and the action will also become cross-platform, meaning PC and console users will be able to compete in the same match. These aren't all the changes — we'll discuss them in more detail below.
What's changing in Rematch in the second half of summer?

The developers have long-term plans: all the planned innovations will be implemented over a period ranging from one to three weeks up to two months. But since they're presented as a single list, we'll discuss them in order — without specifying exact dates. Let's start with a report stating that people have spent over 60 million hours on virtual pitches, even though only a month has passed since the game's release. Additionally, Sloclap describes Rematch as more than just football, just as Sifu is more than just fighting. But even the sun has its spots, so the sports action game needs some fixes. The developers will start with a special mode for people with color vision deficiencies and the ability to rebind gamepad buttons as desired.
Next will come a hotfix with corrections to the netcode, as players have complained about incorrect goalkeeper actions. Crossplay is promised — it will be introduced closer to September along with the start of the next season. We can also expect server optimization and a patch improving keyboard and mouse interaction — finally, the game will have sensitivity settings. It's also worth noting the announcement of improvements to the skill-based matchmaking system — currently, the developers use the OpenSkill service to evaluate players' skill levels.
