Korea's largest MMORPG developer, which owns the rights to the Lineage, Blade and Soul, Aion, and Guild Wars universes, has published its financial report for the first quarter of 2022. Among other things, NCSoft employees shared the success of the mobile and PC departments, and in parallel, outside of discussing the document, made a number of statements about some of their projects, including the not yet released game Throne and Liberty.

NCSoft's past and future

The first thing the company representatives noted was the growth of its revenue: the total revenue amounted to 790.3 billion Korean won, of which 244.2 billion came from operating profit, and 168.3 billion - from net profit. Separate blocks in the report are the mobile and PC directions: the first, as it is easy to guess, is developing more actively and has already brought the publisher 640.7 billion won against a much smaller amount for the second. Only a few franchises like the Lineage dileology (about 50 billion) can be called as profitable as NCSoft's releases for smartphones and tablets. At the same time, regarding Aion developers have made a statement that because of the low online presence in the game suffers from the quality of its updates. In the future, they intend to correct the situation.

Finally, the report mentions the plans to release Throne and Liberty in the second half of 2022. Today this game is the most ambitious project of NCSoft and we have high hopes for it. To allay the fears of skeptics, the publisher's CFO said that this MMORPG will avoid the "pay to win" principle - users will have to play, not spend money to succeed in it.
