The employees of Pearl Abyss company together with the Korean Cultural Heritage Administration have organized a museum right in the popular MMORPG Black Desert. They put a virtual copy of Gyeongbokgung Palace, one of the oldest architectural monuments in Seoul, into the game. Here was the residence of emperors from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897), and nowadays the complex of dozens of buildings is visited by tourists. But today you don't need to buy tickets to the Korean capital to see the ancient architecture - a computer with BDO installed is enough to do it.

Gyeongbokgung in Black Desert - what is there to see?

Digital copies of all the buildings are created according to the real buildings with respect to scale, i.e. the characters of the game look on the background of the buildings the same way as people would look next to these buildings. Getting acquainted with the palace begins with the Gwanghwamun Gate - the name is derived from "kwanghwa", which means a wide beam of light. On the ceiling of the portal in the fortress wall there is an interesting painting with oriental motifs. You can see the square and the road that runs along it, which leads to the Geunjeongjeon Throne Hall, where ambassadors were received and various ceremonies, including coronations, were held.

The Gyeonghoeru Pavilion was a pleasant place for the emperor and his entourage to feast. It was built on an artificial pond on the bank of the Hangang River, so the covered gallery on the second floor offers a marvelous view. BDO developers have also recreated individual landmarks such as chimneys in the Amisan Garden, water tanks and the Heavenly Altar. The palace is guarded by an honor guard in traditional dress - the changing of the guard can still be seen by tourists in Seoul. If you wish, you can visit Hwaomsa Temple and Nagang Eupsong Village in the game.
