Registration for Lord of the Mysteries has begun

Chinese company Spark Nexa has announced the start of registration for people wishing to participate in testing the game based on the web novel «Lord of the Mysteries». Although the trailer doesn't provide a complete picture of this project, the authors themselves classify it as an MMORPG, and the work is created in the donghua genre - that's what anime is called in China. Due to its Victorian motifs in design and dark atmosphere, the new title is being compared to the popular action-RPG Bloodborne. Let's tell you what is known so far.

The original plot of «Lord of the Mysteries» consists of over a thousand chapters and follows the adventures of a modern ordinary person, Zhou Mingrui, who mysteriously takes over the body of a man living in another world and another era. The hero must figure out why he is now living as Klein Moretti in a steampunk universe instead of drinking tea at home. What's also interesting is that this setting features magic, secret societies, and unraveling mystical mysteries. The story impressed the audience so much that first they started making an animated series based on it, and now they've taken on game production.

Judging by the published trailers, the graphics in the MMORPG will be very beautiful, and the gameplay will include world exploration and dialogues with characters. However, the developers haven't mentioned anything about multiplayer implementation, and the video looks more like a recording of a solo adventure - there's no information about online modes.
