The mod for Team Fortress 2 will be released as a separate game

The Get Psyched Games team has spent more than five years preparing a massive Open Fortress mod for Valve's popular online shooter Team Fortress 2. The mod will be released as a standalone game on Steam, rather than as a downloadable add-on. The price of the shooter, as well as its release date, is still unknown. Most likely, the project will be made free. But we already know something about the future novelty - and we share the details.

If you're not aware, the original game takes place at the height of the Cold War between the USSR and the USA. The modification takes the story a bit further and puts 1979 on the calendar and America on the globe. For the basis of style developers took the popular culture of those times, including spy thrillers and action movies. Specially for the project created music in the genre of funk and painted scenery, although the visual style in general and the appearance of characters in particular are familiar to everyone who has ever run Team Fortress 2.
