MMORPG with neural network quests receives a roadmap
The development of artificial intelligence could not but affect game development. Some studios today offer projects entirely created by neural networks, while others give machines only a part of the work — for example, drawing art. The authors of Epitome have a special approach: in their creation, AI controls computer characters and invents quests — thus, each NPC is a dynamic personality reacting to gamers' actions, and each new mission differs at least in something from the previous one. To check whether this is really the case, participants of the open alpha testing scheduled for the near future will be able to.
What is known about the AI-MMORPG Epitome at the moment?

Upon release, the game, according to the developers, will be free-to-play. Its action unfolds in a fairy-tale world, where the user can choose a hero to suit their playstyle — a warrior, ninja, shaman, necromancer, and elementalist are available. Everyone in Epitome is able to use magic, receive blessings, and upgrade characteristics. In addition, monoliths fall from the sky, which, although they release monsters outside, still offer brave souls valuable loot for victory in battle. The novelty's feature was the AI's work as a generator of quests and NPC lines, meaning that with any computer interlocutor it will be possible to conduct a meaningful dialogue, not created by scriptwriters in advance, and additionally receive a unique mission with a reward for success.
Announcing the alpha test, the developers also shared their plans for the future. They promise to add a couple of new maps to the fantasy world, including the Orc Archipelago, and also a teleportation system from one sanctuary to another, improved NPC behavior, PvP and PvE dungeons, interactive environment elements like torches, chests, and doors. Guilds, pets, mounts, a function for managing your own trading shops, cheat protection, and a social rating system are also announced. Players who have submitted an application on the official website to participate in the testing will get to know all this closer.
