A team-based shooter with comic book characters has been announced
NetEase company, well known to fans of MMO games, has presented a third-person shooter Marvel Rivals, where you can fight for Black Panther, Iron Man, Dr. Strange, Hulk and other characters from the popular universe. During the battles the heroes, of course, will use and combine their superpowers. The release date of the shooter has not been announced yet, but it already has a page in Steam. We share the information known at the moment.
What is Marvel Rivals?
The developers promise to present all the stars from the comics, including even supervillains. In addition, there will be familiar locations - from Asgard to Tokyo 2099. Against the backdrop of these scenery and will unfold the battles of teams of six participants, reminiscent of matches from Overwatch. Characters will be able to support each other with unique skills - for example, Rocket the raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy jumps on Groot's shoulder and fires from there, Hulk charges Iron Man's armor with gamma rays, and Strange opens portals to quickly move his friends around the map. In other words, the squad should be composed in such a way as to gain synergy of techniques and tactical advantage over the opponents.
Also promised destructible environment: you can change the architecture of the level for your tasks and properties of fighters. It will also be allowed to turn various items from the scenery into weapons, but it is still unknown how exactly this mechanic will be formalized. Finally, season passes with additional content are promised. Judging by the game's description in Steam, it supports in-app purchases. More details about the project will allow to learn closed alpha test - it will be held in May this year.
