Middle-earth for the thrifty - a promotion in The Lord of the Rings: Online
Betting on classics always works. Here, The Lord of the Rings: Online has become a popular MMORPG because it brings to life John Tolkien's fabulous universe, which millions of people around the world love. But until recently the most part of the game was available only for money. On the occasion of 15-th anniversary of the project the developers decided to remove this convention: they are going to open free access to the variety of add-ons to attract the newcomers.
What's new in The Lord of the Rings: Online?
At the end of April 2022, the 33rd update will be released to coincide with the game's 15th anniversary. The update contains two important parts. First, it's about adding a northern region called Yondershire, where the most restless hobbits live, including the famous Took and Sackville Baggins families from the Tolkien books. The locals don't want to sit peacefully at home, as they do in the Shire and Bree, but it's up to the players to figure out why.
The second and main part of the update - the action, which opens free access to all the add-ons for the game, released since 2007. Without investing a penny, gamers will be able to explore all the locations and tasks, improving their heroes up to level 95. Even the race of higher elves, previously not available without donation, can be chosen by any newcomer. The only DLC, which will remain paid and exclusive to VIP-account holders, are "Mordor", "Minas Morgul" and "War of the Three Peaks".
