League of Legends is now a fighting game

Many fans of multiplayer games are familiar with MOBA League of Legends. Its developers decided to turn their creation into a cooperative fighting game with "two versus two" rules, almost like in the latest Mortal Kombat release. The studio Riot Games decided to keep all the characters in place, only now they will fight not from a top-down view but in a more traditional side-scrolling perspective for the genre. At the same time, the fighting game 2XKO features a cartoonish style reminiscent of the series «Arcane».

What is known about 2XKO at the moment?

The gameplay consists of team battles where each fighter is equipped with special abilities tied to their role in LoL. For example, Jinx uses guns and explosives, while Braum relies on a massive shield and freezing enemies in close combat. To participate, you'll need to find a partner to team up with. However, there is also a single-player mode where an AI takes on the role of your partner. Each match will be played in a best-of-three format. A ranked leaderboard is also promised, tracking champions' progress toward glory.

The project is set to be free-to-play upon release. To try it out soon, you need to visit the official website, register, and apply for beta testing, which starts on September 9. Invitations will then be sent via email. By the way, Alpha Lab participants will be granted automatic access without additional steps—they'll receive a pass right away. Although the beta is for PC owners, the game will also be available on current-gen consoles at launch.
