Cooperative survival on Mars in Blind Descent

In the Steam store, a free demo version of the game about the survival of four astronauts on the nearest planet to Earth is now available. Four gamers united in a team can solve Martian puzzles. Heroes will have to extract resources, build a common shelter and adapt to the surrounding environment through mutations — this will allow them to avoid most traps. Notably, the project is being created by the Turkish studio Pokuch — we don't often see games from this country.

What else is interesting about the Blind Descent demo?

The development of the cooperative game has been ongoing for over four years, but now gamers have the opportunity to download a free demo version refined with patches. By the way, it includes Russian language support. You play as a space explorer who, together with three similar heroes, is sent to Mars where contact with the previous expedition was lost. It turns out that beneath the surface of the Red Planet there are huge caves inside which a unique ecosystem has emerged — this is exactly where you will have to search for the missing crew. But doing this is not easy: you will have to use improvised items, build a safe base, extract resources and rely on the support of other players.

To show the diversity of nature in the alien world, the developers have created flora and fauna that include predatory plants, kamikaze mosquitoes, crabs whose shells can be used as water containers, cave spitters and other bizarre creatures. Of particular interest is the mutation mechanic that allows astronauts to bond with the exotic universe. Gaining experience, heroes can change their genetics to strengthen connections with the surrounding environment and thereby protect themselves from various threats, including predators and poisonous vapors. Users compare the Pokuch company's project with Green Hell and Subnautica, but the difference is that you can try it for free.
