The official part of the annual event The Game Awards, where the best games are celebrated and major announcements take place, has come to an end. Gamers were shown what the upcoming hits will look like — Divinity from Larian, Control Resonant from Remedy Entertainment, two projects in the «Star Wars» universe and an improved Lara Croft from the next Tomb Raider. On the other hand, successful developers received winged statuettes. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was unanimously recognized as the main masterpiece of 2025 by the jury members. Nevertheless, the creators of multiplayer entertainment also received awards — let's talk about them in more detail.

ARC Raiders was predictably recognized as the star of the multiplayer nomination, leaving the online modes of Call of Duty and Battlefield far behind. There's no surprise here, as the game took the extraction shooter genre to a new level and attracted a mass audience to it. The employees of Embark studio managed to set the trend for years to come — if previously the «battle royale» mode was in trend, now major publishers will be competing to offer their take on evacuation shooters. At the same time, the award for the best esports discipline went to the creators of Counter-Strike 2 from Valve. The decision is controversial, but still acknowledges the company's contribution to the development of competitive FPS.

The award for best product support went to the developers from Hello Games. Which, in general, was also expected — since the release of No Man's Sky has not only become a good game, but has also received several amazing free DLCs with story chapters, ships, expeditions, adventures in the most incredible biomes and activities for friendly companies. The award for best sound design went to Battlefield 6, while the sympathies of ordinary gamers were on the side of the anime gacha Wuthering Waves.
