«Squid Game» has been added to Fortnite

While TV show fans are waiting for the premiere of another season of the South Korean series, the planet's main «battle royale» is collaborating with it. A themed location has become available on the map — you can play on it in the «Reload» mode. Additionally, the developers from Epic Games have added a set of weapons for new battles, character appearances with famous green suits, and collectible accessories, including «Fatal Figures» and cars. We’ll tell you in detail what has changed in the online shooter Fortnite at the end of June.

Starting June 27, the «Squid» arena, designed in the style of the globally popular TV show, becomes available in the action game. Here you can see familiar areas, including the maze and «Red Light, Green Light,» where you must freeze on signal. At the very end of the month, the new location will replace «Oasis» in the rotation — though not permanently, but only temporarily. Battles here will be allowed in the «Reload» mode. For those who don’t remember its rules, here’s a reminder. Team members in such battles can respawn after death. But the more often a character is killed, the longer the respawn timer becomes. Squadmates can speed up the process by eliminating opponents — this advances the timer.

Of course, the developers are also adding a special set of equipment, which includes boogie bombs, a jetpack, and the «Scarlet Eye» submachine gun. Characters will also be able to wear the training suits from the series and the guards’ uniforms — with white squares and circles on black masks. Collectible items will delight fans: here you’ll find paper envelopes for ttakji, the «Fatal Figures» wrapper, and a back bling in the shape of dalgona — a sweet treat with a pattern that can be scratched out with a needle.
