Not just monsters in space: HYENAS announcement

The authors of the horror Alien: Isolation from the Creative Assembly studio decided to switch to a more cheerful note and presented the fun online action game HYENAS, which nevertheless also takes place in space. The action will be run by the rules of PvPvE: in it, the teams compete with each other on the same map, but in addition, they have to deal with enemies controlled by an artificial intelligence. And all this is designed in a very peculiar style.

There have been rumors about Creative Assembly's developments for a long time, but the situation has finally become clearer. The action of the announced game takes place in the future. After the catastrophe that destroyed the Earth, all the rich people moved to Mars, but out of a sense of nostalgia they order artifacts of pop culture from the parent planet. We're talking various merchandise like Sonic the Hedgehog key chains. The valuable cargo is intercepted by robbers, known in the game's universe as hyenas - and the players are in their role.

According to the official description, the matches will be organized in this way: the team landed on the location, fight with the guards and each other for artifacts from Earth, and then leave the battlefield. The winner will be the one who loots more. The developers have already introduced some of the characters in the trailer, and in the future they promise to expand the selection of hyenas. Among the unusual guns in the trailer showed a sprayer of assembly foam, which allows you to create shelters and bridges on the go. Something similar we have already seen in the shooter Prey. Also we are interested in the promised zero-gravity battles. HYENAS will be released in 2023, but we know, that the beta test will start earlier.
