What was shown in the Horizon Forbidden West trailer

One of the most anticipated releases this winter is the second part of Horizon. In the action game produced by Guerrilla Games, humans survive the end of the world. The power over the world is taken over by beast-like robots, which are destroyed as much as they can by hunters, such as the game's heroine Eloi. A fresh trailer shows familiar characters and reveals some plot details.

Forbidden West is set in a post-apocalyptic world where human society has degenerated to a primitive state. Tribes under chiefs are feuding with each other. The main character must travel to the west of the lands that used to be called the United States of America. Along the way she will fight with robots, aggressive Regalla tribe and also will meet the villain from Horizon Zero Dawn - Silence. Guerilla Games employees Benjamin McCaw and Annie Kitein, who are responsible for the game's scenario, said in an interview that Eloy will have to find out how Regalla controls the machines and how it is connected with a mysterious disease that destroys all living things. Notably, the English trailer is six times longer than the same video dubbed into Russian.

Horizon Forbidden West release is scheduled for February 22 this year. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Recall that the previous part of the series, Horizon Zero Dawn, at first also was a console exclusive, and then appeared as a PC-version, becoming in August 2020 the most successful launch of the Sony publisher on Steam.
