Work on Guild Wars 3 is already underway

NCSoft recently held a shareholder meeting, during which CEO Park Byung-moo revealed that ArenaNet Studios is currently busy working on the third installment of the acclaimed MMORPG. After many rumors over the years, this is the first official confirmation that GW3 does indeed exist - and will definitely be released someday. However, it is still unknown what fate awaits Guild Wars 2 and what its fans will do after the release of the threequel.

Park Byung-moo began his speech by describing the unstable market situation that has led to a drop in the company's stock price, while 2022 is still considered the most successful year in NCSoft's history. To cope with these difficulties, the game publisher is improving its managers and cooperating with global corporations like Google. the year 2024, according to the CEO, should be a turning point. On the other hand, the information about the profitability of the publisher's projects has remained closed for the second year already - no one has canceled this policy yet.

We also talked about ArenaNet studio, which is currently working on Guild Wars 3, preparing two major updates of the second part - they should be presented this year and next year. The speaker did not give any additional details - the listeners were more interested in why the company's management has such large bonuses, awarded against the background of business losses, and where the Lineage-like projects went. Among MMORPG fans there is an opinion that the new game is made on Unreal Engine 5.
