Fortnite now with «The Simpsons»

At Epic Games, they’re constantly dreaming up interesting collaborations to add more content to their battle royale Fortnite. One day the developers invite pop stars, the next they team up with some trendy brand, and this time they managed to secure support from the creators of the animated series «The Simpsons». For the occasion, the game’s main island has been turned into Springfield with all the familiar locations — from the characters’ houses to the nuclear power plant where Homer works. Here’s a closer look at the union of the two universes.

Simpsons in Fortnite — what’s new?

The battle-royale island for 80 players has been completely redesigned. Everything, including interactive items and decorations, is now styled after the cartoon. You can also pick a skin of a character familiar from the show, be it Homer, Marge, Flanders, or anyone else. The creators of «The Simpsons» have come up with some dynamic match features specifically for the online shooter — for example, giant donuts falling from the sky. These amusing touches are meant to spice up the firefights and add fan service to the game. Players are also offered battle-pass quests to unlock gear items belonging to the cartoon heroes, Mutant Carp, and Banana.

Parallel to this collaboration, Epic Games staff continue testing the satellite system — autonomous characters that follow you everywhere in the game world. So far users have access to only one such companion, Lil’ Banana, but on November 7 more will appear. In addition, until the 24th of this month specially created animated shorts for the game will be released — you’ll find them in the «Quests» menu tab. A special glider prize is promised to anyone who links their Epic store account with the MyDisney service.
