Fortnite gets an interesting LEGO mode

Epic Games employees introduced several innovations for their online shooter . First, they upgraded the game to version 36.10, adding a map for «Fire Line», gadgets, and weapons. Second, they announced the release of the mobile-oriented Blitz mode for «Battle Royale». Finally, the LEGO version of the multiplayer shooter introduced «Expeditions», where players must assemble a squad of friends and complete all challenges together.

Let's start with «Blitz» and why the developers consider this mode suitable for smartphones. The fact is that battles take place on a small map and involve only 32 players, meaning the path to victory or defeat is much shorter than usual. Such matches are convenient to play while riding public transport, on a walk, or in a queue. Both solo players and teams of four are allowed to participate. Additionally, players can obtain the Valiant Knight gear and see themed items—for example, in the fourth week after the mode's launch, bosses with weapons styled after «Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles» will become available.

The upgrade to version 36.10 also included new content. This time, it's the «Contour K» map for «Fire Line», a mode often compared to Counter-Strike. The terrain is inspired by modern Korean culture—hence the letter in the name. The map is complemented by a rapid-fire submachine gun with a 14-round magazine and a medical grenade—it explodes but doesn’t kill anyone, instead healing everyone within its radius. LEGO Fortnite is also changing with the introduction of «Expeditions». To participate, players must assemble a squad of friends and head to the academy, where ordinary heroes become superheroes. After choosing one of four specializations, the team must complete a series of tasks.
