Escape from Duckov is losing other people’s achievements
A humorous online extraction shooter that launched on October 16 has become a real Steam hit, racking up half a million users in just a few days. And the game is a joke: it parodies Escape from Tarkov, only with cartoon graphics and a top-down view instead of first-person, plus all the characters are ducks. So the developers of Escape from Duckov would be celebrating the success—if it weren’t for bugs in the code that prevent the client from saving some users’ progress to the «cloud». Here’s what we know about the issue so far.
What’s happening with Escape from Duckov and how do I get a refund?

In less than a month, Valve’s digital store will release the most famous extraction shooter from Russian developers. Chinese devs are actively capitalizing on this: one studio has put out a decent EFT clone—Arena Breakout: Infinite—while another team from the Middle Kingdom, Team Soda, announced the release of a hardcore duck shooter. The idea turned out to be a hit: in just four days users created over 500 000 accounts, with a peak online of 150 000 connections, even though the game isn’t free. Until the end of the month you can grab it at a 12 % discount. Bear in mind that not all of the Chinese project’s launch issues were fixed at release.
The biggest headache hit Apple computer owners. On Mac, saves stopped working because they can’t be uploaded to the cloud service, causing people to lose progress and loot. The developers apologized to gamers and said that, worst case, anyone is free to refund the game using Steam’s standard tools. If you can’t get compensation, take a screenshot of the error and attach it to an e-mail sent to support at duckov2025@gmail.com. Every case will be reviewed individually, and all user requests, the EFD authors promise, will be satisfied.
