The free «battle royale» Battlefield REDSEC, tied to the well-known military-shooter universe, launched rather poorly. Gamers slammed both the technical state of the project and the support service, and also lamented the scant loot that keeps match participants from showing the full breadth of their tactical ingenuity. As it turned out, the developers weren’t silent—they were gathering data so they could tweak the shooter and win back the audience’s trust. The first batch of those tweaks has already been uploaded to the servers—let’s talk about the update in detail.
Electronic Arts is urgently fixing Battlefield REDSEC
What does the November patch change in Battlefield REDSEC?

The game has been bumped to version 1.1.2.0 and primed for the events of the first season, titled «California Resistance». The creators focused first on the lack of content, so the update brings a new map, «Eastwood», inspired by the landscapes of Southern California. The locale is now available in all modes, not just the battle royale. Loot quantities in every crate and stash have also been increased—by the final fight you’ll be able to kit yourself out with any gear, including the double-barreled DB-12 shotgun, the M357 pistol, and the railgun Rorsch Mk-2 SMRW, capable of damaging both infantry and vehicles.
In addition, the shooter now features the «Sabotage» mode. There, two teams attack and defend cargo on the map—victory goes to the company that manages to destroy more objectives. In the «Rodeo» mission from the Gauntlet roster you’ll battle in armored vehicles, finding them at various points on the map. Rounding out the changes is a huge list of technical fixes—just glancing at it makes it obvious how raw the game was on 28 October. But EA’s staff still have a chance to turn things around. On top of that, it’s been announced that numbered Battlefield 6 will be temporarily free from 25 November to 1 December so that as many people as possible can jump in.
