Forsaken update released for No Man’s Sky

After the release of the major Cosmos expansion, launched specifically for the game's tenth anniversary, nothing particularly notable had happened in the vast multiplayer space flight simulator from Hello Games. Until now. As it turned out, the developers of No Man’s Sky had been preparing a patch timed to Halloween — and now gamers can appreciate it in all its glory. The dark side of the universe awaits its explorers, even those playing on mobile devices running iOS.

What makes the Forsaken update for No Man’s Sky interesting?

Strange objects have appeared in space: remnants of ghostly technologies and traces of infection by unknown life forms. Captains will have to study these phenomena and turn them to their advantage. That is, of course, if they have the courage to peer into the darkest corners of the galaxy, examine the husks of abandoned starships, and defeat the monsters at captured outposts. In return, trophies from victory will help give the ships a "biological" look, as if the personal transport had been grown rather than built. New cockpit models and interior elements have also been added to the constructor.

Cosmonauts gain access to fresh samples of weapons and spacesuits, plus an organic multitool in the form of the larva of an extraterrestrial creature. The developers have finally implemented a radial weapon selection menu and seamless travel from one star system to another. At the same time, the range of Apple devices on which NMS can now be launched with console-quality graphics has been expanded. The Hello Games team singles out the courier profession — from now on, anyone willing can earn resources by delivering cargo along galactic routes.
