Destiny 2 is in for a big change
Bungie company, responsible for the development of Destiny 2 online action game about the battles between the defenders of the Earth and humanity and aliens from other worlds, announced the release of two major updates - "The Edge of Fate" and "Renegades". At the same time, the developers shared plans for further development of the project - we already know not only about paid, but also about free patches, waiting for the game until next spring. Let's tell you more about these changes.
What's in store for Destiny 2 in 2025 and 2026?

Opening the list of updates is Rite of the Nine, an add-on dedicated to the Nine who took the place of the Witness after his fall at the hands (or rather, guns) of the Guardians. This patch is out now, and is available to all users of the online action game for free. It emphasizes PvE battles in dungeons, where heroes can obtain a number of unique trophies. But this activity will come to a close on June 15, when The Edge of Fate is expected to be released.
The summer update will be paid, but it will have more content. Here players will get to the previously unseen map "Kepler", where they will find enemies, puzzles and investigations devoted to the activities of the Nine. In addition, there will be mechanics of using dark matter in combat.
After a couple of technical patches, for which you will not have to pay, in the very beginning of winter will be released addon Renegades, aesthetically linked to the universe of "Star Wars". It is easy to notice this in the appearance of the characters, and in the lightsaber in the hand of one of them. But the story will not be connected with Star Wars in any way - in it, according to Bungie studio employees, they will test a fresh approach to creating interactive stories. Next we are waiting for a free Shadow & Order update, which is scheduled for release in March 2026.
