Isaac Clarke is back in action: news about the Dead Space remake
Dead Space 2008 is considered to be one of the most fascinating and creepy space games. In this action game the developers from Visceral Games applied a number of innovative solutions for that time, including diegetic interface - when all the scales and sensors are inscribed into the virtual world instead of being separated from it. Naturally, such classics needed to be re-released. The first news about the remake appeared last summer, and now Electronic Arts and Motive Studios have provided important clarifications.
What is known about the Dead Space remake so far
The developers have already told about the improvement of graphics and ray tracing support. In the new presentation they paid attention to sound effects. Firstly, the volume of breathing, grunting, cries and heartbeat of Isaac Clarke, the main character of the game, now depends on the situation he is in. Second, so-called occlusion was added to the remake, which changes the properties of sound among different surfaces and spaces. In addition, the audio files related to the use of weapons have been redesigned, making them click and bang more realistically.
To demonstrate the current state of the game, the Motive staff held a broadcast and reported that the Dead Space remake is currently in the alpha stage. The release of the final version is scheduled for early 2023 - the action game will be available on PC, as well as Sony and Microsoft's next-generation consoles.
