Bungie will return to working on Destiny

Quite recently, Bungie studio employees announced that they would devote all their efforts to their online shooter Marathon. Destiny 2 was left without updates on that occasion. But since the commercial success of Marathon currently leaves much to be desired, the team has reconsidered its plans. Company head Pouria Torkan and project manager Josh Dean addressed, in a public appearance, those gamers who are still awaiting new feats from the Guardians defending the Solar System from alien invasion. These players have indeed received several encouraging announcements.

The developers admit that they let down the fan community that had been forming around the studio's work for thirty years. Therefore, the studio's leaders immediately played their trump card: they announced that their future is closely tied to the Destiny series — the criticism that rained down on the Monuments of Triumph expansion was heard. Nevertheless, the team needs time to prepare new content and do justice to the fantastic universe. Also, the maps, campaigns, and raids cut from Destiny 2 will be restored. In other words, they intend to return the shooter to its pristine form.

As for other projects, they promise to make Marathon lighter and more diverse in terms of genre, and survival elements will be added as well. In any case, the game's development will proceed in accordance with user feedback. At the end of the video, the developers ask gamers to give them one more chance, since priorities are now clearer and internal competition within the team is lower. This means that all subsequent decisions will be more deliberate than in the previous few years.
