Black Desert has temporarily become free on Steam

One of the most beautiful Korean-made MMORPGs is available for free in the store of Valve until July 10. Normally, Black Desert requires a one-time payment, as the purchase also includes bonus sets and some resources useful for beginners. But the studio Pearl Abyss decided to throw a real celebration for fans of the genre, although the usual paid items remained in the virtual world. This interesting offer has already led to unexpected results: recent ratings of the project have started to decline.

Shortly after announcing the new class Wukong (in Chinese mythology, this character is also known as the Monkey King), the developers from Pearl Abyss removed the price tag. But the result was not quite what they expected. Gamers who expected to see classic Free to Play conditions here considered the paid items to be balance-breaking and started giving low ratings on Steam. Because of this, the recent reviews of the game on the platform turned out to be mixed, although overall it has tens of thousands of positive reviews, which is easy to verify by visiting its page.

It's also worth noting that new users call BDO's gameplay outdated, but it was released about ten years ago. And yet it is still in demand, and sometimes it can be obtained without any investment. Of course, this is not the first promotion of its kind: the project is periodically offered at a 90% discount or (at least once a year) for free. But it remains one of the best games in the genre, not to mention its graphical merits, and if you still don't have it, we advise you to take advantage of the offer until July 10, 2025.
