Battlefield 6 turned into "Sea Battle"

The multiplayer of the Electronic Arts military shooter series hasn't seen naval battles for a long time — at least since the fourth installment. But in the latest season of the sixth game in the cycle, the developers decided to change the situation. They added to the action game the largest map with an ocean area, islands, and realistic wave rendering, as well as two types of boats, several guns, and a classic location familiar to fans from Battlefield 1942. Moreover, the changes apply to both the main project, Battlefield 6, and the "battle royale" REDSEC, which runs on separate servers.

Details of the fourth season of Battlefield 6

The story of the improvements should start with the main one — the "Tsuru Reef" location. At the moment, this is the most spacious arena for combat in multiplayer, but it represents not only a smooth sea surface. In places, rocks rise above the waves, and the main archipelago is rich in notable locations. Here there is a port, an airbase, a town with a Moon Beach, and a huge hotel. All of this is located between the headquarters of two armies, so every area on the islands will be explored and, of course, beautifully destroyed thanks to the advanced physics engine. A special point of pride for the action game's creators was the realistic simulation of waves, which both look natural and rock the boat while moving at full speed.

In the conflict over Tsuru, special vehicles are indispensable. The battle is fought with the support of all types of equipment: helicopters, planes, tanks, and boats. Of the latter, the 7.7-meter NSW RHIB equipped with a machine gun and the armored RCB-90, created specifically for assaulting the coastline, were presented. The squads' arsenal also got replenished: the EF88 assault rifle in bullpup configuration, the BROD 3 carbine, and the VSSM sniper rifle with a built-in suppressor were added. Also announced was the release of the island map "Wake" — this is an improved and modernized version of the atoll from the series' installments with the subtitles 1942 and War in the Pacific.
