World of Tanks authors are testing a game about giant robots

Wargaming, a company that needs no special introduction, is now busy developing an online action game Steel Hunters about the battles of mechs - huge fighting machines in the form of people or animals. The authors plan to launch their project for free, and now and then organize beta-tests for all comers. Although the release date of the game is unknown, you can leave a request to test it in Steam, add it to your wishlist, and learn about a new level called "Career".

The game was announced back in 2019, but is still in development. However, Wargaming employees already have something to show, so they regularly announce beta tests. The action of the MMO action game unfolds on Earth after a global catastrophe. Human civilization in this version of the future has ended, and the planet is populated by robots, which are called Hunters. They are constantly fighting among themselves for the last valuable resource of the world - starfall. Who has more of this material can make better armor and modifications. But you have to fight for the loot on the battlefield, where there are six teams of two participants each. The success of the duo depends on how well the skills of the partners are combined.

In their new address to the audience, the developers told about the map "Quarry" (or Quarry), its features and sources of inspiration. In particular, on some locations you can see real mining equipment and machines, similar to the famous BelAZ dump trucks. Also among the rocks you can see cranes with conveyors Bucketwheel Reclaimers - one of them was shown in the TV series "Wild West World". To be able to hide behind all this equipment during the match fighters, it was made a little larger than the real samples. Right now the new map is being tested in the beta test, but even after its completion it will remain in the game.
