The authors of Stars Reach are launching a campaign on Kickstarter

Space MMORPG Stars Reach will open up unprecedented freedom of creativity for gamers. Here, for example, it will be possible to model the landscape of planets to your liking, using both mining tools and realistic physics of the behavior of different substances. But with the financing of the project, which was announced back in 2019, there were problems, so the authors decided to launch a campaign to raise funds on a crowdfunding platform. The start will be given already on February 10 this year.

Playable Worlds, the studio responsible for the development of this game, was founded by Raf Koster. Fans of the genre know him thanks to Ultima Online and Star Wars: Galaxies. There is also information that private investors have already invested almost 40 million dollars in the young and ambitious company, but this amount is still not enough to bring Stars Reach to a perfect state. That's why Koster has decided to launch a fundraiser on Kickstarter, which will start in a month's time. The project is planned as an adventure in a galaxy with hundreds of hand-crafted planets. Gamers will be able to land on them, build a base and engage in battles with aliens. To pave a unique path in the universe, each hero will get dozens of professions to choose from, as well as extensive options for changing the landscape, including digging tunnels, excavations, redirecting riverbeds and cutting down forests. According to the plans, players will take control of the virtual economy and resources themselves. Everyone will be able to engage in trading, creating unique items and financial transactions.
