The authors of Rust summarize the half-year results

The online open-world action game from Facepunch Studio continues to be one of the most actively developed games in the genre. This is easy to see by looking at the half-year results published by the developers on Steam and other platforms. This list includes knight battles against the backdrop of post-apocalyptic fortresses, jungle survival, various crafts, and even grenades in the form of cans with bees. The audience is also told about the changes being made to the Rust project right now and what is planned for the future.

How is Rust changing this summer?

Facepunch employees intend to simplify the process of connecting groups of people to the game, making it more convenient for everyone to survive together with friends. The point is that you and your comrades must end up at the same location on the same server. Additionally, open-world missions will be improved, including the opening of the Outpost with a respawn point available in two modes—Vanilla and Primitive. Now, the completion of each quest is indicated by text—this is part of the interface. Many gameplay aspects are becoming more convenient: the game's authors announce improvements to the building mechanics (it's now easier to connect parts together), refinements to the «Peacekeeper» mode, and updates to the Abyss Pack for those who conquer the sea depths. The pack now includes storage tanks for items underwater.

Battles involving the patrol helicopter have been altered to encourage PvP across the entire map—they've added a principle the developers call «tug of war.» An interesting detail of the open world is the erosion simulation, which creates realistic lakes and canyons in the virtual environment. All current changes, as stated, are inspired by feedback from regular users.
